Dear prospective students,
we are pleased about your interest in our International Graduate Studies in Mechatronics program. Many of you have friends and colleagues on social media who successfully applied to the program or are in contact with our academic advisor Faria Afzal (igs.advisor@nt.uni-siegen.de), providing valuable information on the application process, the courses, Campus live and, most important, living in Germany, see also https://www.uni-siegen.de/start/international/index.html.en?lang=en.
In addition, we will provide further information for you over the next months on this web page. Both, our application process and the study program will undergo major changes and you will have all the information we can provide here on this web page, i.e. no need to send additional emails, as you already have every information we can provide right now.
These changes are a normal process every few years, allowing us to realign the courses taught in Mechatronics study program on current trends in science and industry. This includes new courses on machine learning and artificial intelligence, but also on condition monitoring and advanced fluid dynamics. The new examination rules have been developed with particular emphasis on more possibilities to individualize your personal studies for nearly half of the program, using a large catalogue of courses from mechanical and electrical engineering as well as informatics. We will publish them as soon as they have been finalized.
Moreover, we will provide a new and fully digitalized application process - no need for paperwork any more. We will guide you through the new process, which is intuitive and self-explanatory.
Most important: You have time! You can apply until 30th April next year to apply for the winter term 2023/2024. To ensure the corresponding quality of service we will delay the usual start of application towards November or December. There will be no disadvantages for those who will apply in April, neither will there be advantages for those who apply on the first day we open the new digital portal.
To ensure the high standards of the studies and the individual support during your studies, we have to apply an admission limit. Main criteria will be your final grade of your Bachelor degree and your language skills, there will be no interview. You will need at least C1 level of CEFR, see below for further details.
The whole process as well as the new examination rules will be valid, once the Rector of the University of Siegen signs them. Until then, we ask you for your understanding and patience.

Please note that we can only refrain from a language proof in case of native speakers from USA, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand and Australia.
